1940s makeup consists of more of a brow in comparison to the 1930s. It was during World War II so there was not a lot of money to purchase makeup or brushes so women used what they had available to them. They used soot as eyeshadow, beetroots as lip stain and spread gravy other their legs to make it look like them had stockings on and drew in a seem line.
